Walking to Sycamore Gap with Dogs - Easy Route

10 Dog Friendly Brunch Spots by the Beach in North Tyneside

There is nothing better than a dog walk on the beach followed by a lovely brunch in a dog friendly cafe. This article will share some of the places you can do just that in North Tyneside.

10 Dog Friendly Brunch Spots by the Beach in North Tyneside

Before we jump in, please check for dog restrictions on North Tyneside beaches in the summer months. At time of publishing, dogs are not permitted on Whitley Bay South Beach, Cullercoats Bay, King Edwards Bay Tynemouth and Tynemouth Longsands South from May 1 - September 30.

There are currently no restrictions in winter. Please read and follow the info signs on arrival and check out this post which will share the most up-to-date info. Personally, I recommend Seaton Sluice beach which doesn't have any restrictions at any time and is a beautiful beach with free parking popular with dog walkers. I do think that technically, Seaton Sluice is classed as Northumberland but I'm letting that slide in this post.

Finally, all of these places do welcome dogs to the best of my knowledge but this information may change over time or perhaps has been shared elsewhere in error, it is always best to check direct with venues for the most accurate and up-to-date info.

4 - Cafe 19, Whitley Bay

Cafe 19 is a popular cafe on East Parade directly opposite the beach. Their dog policy states that well behaved dogs are welcome. Dogs must be clean and dry and stay on the floor and not be fed from the table. There are dog water bowls outside. Dogs are welcome inside and in the outdoor terrace.

Brunch highlights include homemade quiche, pancakes and breakfast sandwiches. Find out more here.

5 - Crusoes, Tynemouth Longsands

Crusoes sits on the opposite side of Longsands Beach to the View. I remember visiting the beach for a socially distanced walk with my friends and dogs when the rule of six was in place and my friend bought the dogs some sausages from the takeaway hatch there. How cute!

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating areas here and it literally sits on the beach (remember to take note of the summer beach restrictions for dogs). It's a lovely spot and they make a cracking sausage sandwich (which are served all day). Find out more here.

6 - Tynemouth Surf Cafe, Tynemouth

Tynemouth Surf Cafe is a small yet super popular venue on Grand Parade overlooking Tynemouth Longsands. Dogs are welcome in the indoor and outdoor seating areas and they often have special dog treats for sale. Their hot chocolates are renowned for being some of the best in the NE too.

Brunch highlights include soft boiled eggs with soldiers, Northumberland smoked kippers on toast and breakfast stotties.   Find out more here.

7 - Allards, Tynemouth

Dogs are welcome in the casual cafe area of Allards (not the restaurant) which is walk in only. You can expect a cracking menu with eggs your way, breakfast burritos, fluffy pancakes, breakfast buttys, porridge and more. Find out more here.
